If you’re an NBA fan and are watching the playoffs this year, you have an idea of who is going to win and who is not. So, let’s dive in and talk about who will win the NBA Finals.
Teams who have the best chance to win
1. Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are the defending champs. They are an elite team. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray lead them. They have been a dominant duo for Denver all year long. Jokic, their star player, almost averaged a triple-double this year. He averaged 26.4 points per game, 12.4 rebounds per game, and 9.0 assists per game. Murray, on the other hand, averaged 21.2 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, and 6.5 assists per game.
Not only do the Nuggets have star players that can terrorize you, they also have depth on the bench. Most teams that do mediocre in the regular season but suck in the playoffs tend not to have that much talent on the bench. This team is dangerous and I have a good feeling they might win it all again.
2. Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are another elite team in this year’s playoffs. They can hurt you in many different ways. Star players are everywhere. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis. They are an all-around perfect team and a dangerous one to play against. They’re so good because they share the ball and are an unselfish team.
Just like the Nuggets, the Celtics have an incredibly deep bench. Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, and Derrick White are all role players but sharpshooters who play at a high level. Boston is known for its depth, and it will have to keep playing like that if it wants to win the championship.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder are a unique team. Ever since 2016, when they had James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook, they haven’t been good. But this year, they are a phenomenal team. This OKC squad is on fire. They finished the season with a 57-25 record, which is their best since the 2015-2016 season.
Led by Shai Alexander, this squad can definitely win the finals if they keep playing consistently. They have some playmakers at every position, and they win games by playing at their own pace. What is crazy about the Thunder is that they are the youngest team, by age, in the NBA. That stat makes it more ridiculous. But they are a very well-coached team, so they can go as far as they want.

4. Minnesota Timberwolves
In my opinion, the Minnesota Timberwolves are very dangerous. All four of these teams listed have one thing in common: They are well-built teams. These teams are the best in the league. They are well-coached, unselfish with the ball, and, more importantly, they all have good team chemistry. Good teams have chemistry; bad teams do not.
Anthony Edwards, their star player, will arguably be the best point guard in the league. He is so quick, he can shoot, and he can defend. This guy is so young but so talented; he is really going to become a special player and may go down in the Hall Of Fame. He is also a natural athlete, playing football, baseball, and even tennis!
The reason why they are so good is because of their star player, Anthony Edwards. He averaged 25.9 points per game, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game this season. Edwards is young, and it’s a good sight to see if you’re a Minnesota fan. You will probably see a lot of playoff seasons coming your way.
Dark Horse teams
1. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are a good team. They are led by their star player, Jalen Brunson. In my opinion, this team can win the Championship only if Brunson is doing well. The Knicks have a decent team chemistry that all revolves around Brunson, so if Brunson sucks or the team can’t play around him, they will get eliminated.
The Knicks’ downfall is that they don’t have a bench—no depth at all. They have to rely mostly on their starters to play at a high level each game. When you have to rely on your starters, they will get tired quickly, and that is bad for a series. I don’t see them winning.
2. Dallas Mavericks
When it comes to the Mavs, you would like to think they’re the best team in the league. You would like to think they could win a championship. They have two-star players on their team, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. They play at such a high level that their teammates can’t keep up. Doncic and Irving need to step up even bigger to try and win the championship.
I would love to see Dallas make it to the Finals, but I just don’t see it happening. They have nice role players but are not good enough in the Playoffs. See, when it comes to the playoffs, you have to be at your best because you’re playing the best teams. Dallas just struggles every year so that’s why I don’t see them winning. I love their team, don’t get me wrong, but no, it won’t happen until they get a better coach.
Teams who have no chance
1. Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are not bad, not bad at all. But when it comes to playoff time, you have to be at your best both offensively and defensively. Indiana has a star player named Tyrese Haliburton who can score and efficiently pass the ball on any night. They also have some nice role players too.
But compared to any other team in the playoffs right now, the Pacers have no shot at winning. I mean, you would have to be so foolish to think the Pacers would be able to win a championship. Yes, they’re a competitive team, and yes, they can score the ball and be efficient. But they have zero defense, and you need guys who can defend to win games.
2. Cleveland Cavaliers
Last but not least, the Cleveland Cavs. Is this the Lebron era? Is Cleveland actually in the playoffs this year? Yes, they are, and no, it is not the LeBron James team from years ago. Their star point guard, Donovan Mitchell, leads this team. This guy is a beast; he can score off the dribble, on the dribble, it doesn’t matter, he will cook you. But his team sucks. Besides him and two other guys on the team who are mediocre at best, the team can’t win.
They struggle to score on offense, and they struggle to defend. The only way this team wins is if it is a miracle game. The NBA is highly competitive, right? The Cavs are competitive, but not to the degree that the other teams are. Cleveland’s only strength is Mitchell, and they can rebound. Rebounding is obviously key to winning games, but they just need more to be able to win. You have to be delusional to think they can win. Unless you’re from Cleveland, ha-ha.
My opinion on who is going to win it all
Alright, so we have all the teams listed, and I gave some insight into how they are as a team. Now, let’s see who I think is going to win based on that.
I am going to break it down. There are only two teams that I am thinking of: the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets. I mean, who can blame me? Both Celtics and Nuggets are just playing at a higher level than all the other teams. Every time I watch them play, I’m amazed at how good they are. It is like they have been playing basketball together for their whole lives. The team’s chemistry and camaraderie are through the roof.
My prediction is that they will play in the NBA Finals against each other. I believe that it will go down the wire and be a game 7 series and that the Nuggets will win back-to-back. These two are the best teams in the league and it is not even close. So, I think Denver will beat Boston 4-3 in a highly anticipated battle in the finals.
